The Methodist Investments and Properties Ltd. (MIPL) has demonstrated a renewed commitment to child welfare and education following a meaningful donation to Rafiki Satellite Village in the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana.
The donation, which took place on Wednesday, 6th May, 2026, comprised school uniforms valued at GHȻ14,000.00, diaries, mugs, and a cash amount of GHȻ5,000.00. The gesture forms part of ongoing efforts by the Methodist Church Ghana and its affiliated institutions to strengthen support systems for vulnerable children and enhance access to quality education in its care facilities.
The items were presented on behalf of the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, The Most Rev. Prof. Johnson K. Asamoah-Gyadu. The presentation was led by a high-powered delegation made up of the Diocesan Bishop of the Winneba Diocese, Rt. Rev. John Prince Sackey, the Lay Chairman, Bro. Seth Oduro Arthur, and the Chief Executive Officer of MIPL, Mr. Clifford D. Mettle. The delegation formally handed over the items to the administrators of Rafiki Satellite Village in a brief but significant ceremony attended by staff and representatives of the facility.
Speaking during the presentation, The CEO of MIPL, Mr. Clifford D. Mettle explained that the initiative was born out of a recent pastoral visit by the Presiding Bishop to Rafiki Satellite Village. According to him, during the visit, the Bishop observed the needs of the children and made a specific pledge to support them with brand-new school uniforms to boost their dignity and confidence.
He noted that the Presiding Bishop subsequently directed MIPL Clothing, the Church’s official apparel and vestments company, to take immediate responsibility for fulfilling the pledge. He further indicated that MIPL, in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility mandate and its commitment to advancing the mission of the Methodist Church Ghana, responded promptly and ensured that the uniforms were produced and delivered within a short period of time.
He further emphasized that MIPL remains committed to using its resources and expertise not only for commercial purposes but also to support social development initiatives that align with the Church’s vision of transforming lives and communities. He added that the donation reflects the company’s broader responsibility towards education, child welfare, and sustainable development within the Church’s institutions.
Receiving the items on behalf of Rafiki Satellite Village, the Acting Director, Very Rev. Nicholas Odum Baidoo, expressed profound gratitude to the Presiding Bishop and the management of MIPL for their continuous generosity and support. He described the donation as timely and impactful, noting that it would significantly improve the living conditions and morale of the children.
He further assured that the items would be used for their intended purpose and extended appreciation for the Church’s consistent interventions in the welfare of the children under their care.
