Five suspected land guards have been arrested and placed in police custody for allegedly invading a property at Ability, near Adjiringanor in East Legon, forcing tenants out, demolishing a four-bedroom house and assaulting residents with cutlasses.
The suspects have been identified as Abdul Razak, 33, an operator; Jibril Adam, 42, a contractor; Toufiq Muniru, 27, a trader; Mutala Adams, 42, a commercial motor rider; and Mohammed Ahmed, 42, a labourer.
They are alleged to have been involved in the incident, which occurred on August 20, 2026.
According to the brief facts presented by the prosecuting officer, DSP Nyamekye, the property belongs to a UK-based landowner who purchased the plot in 1996 from the Oppong We Family.

The prosecution told the court that the suspects subsequently entered an adjoining compound, where they allegedly assaulted Gladys Asiedu.
A worker and his son were also reportedly attacked and sustained cutlass wounds during the incident.
The suspects allegedly threatened to return to the property and commence new construction on the land.
Following the incident, the matter was transferred to the Operations Unit at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters on August 26, 2026, for further investigation.
