Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen has completed a move to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, signing a contract until the summer of 2027 following his departure from Manchester United at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old playmaker made 107 appearances and scored eight goals during his three years at Old Trafford, where he played a pivotal role in United’s Carabao Cup triumph in 2023 and their FA Cup success in 2024.
“Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga – I’m really looking forward to this new adventure. I’m convinced we can achieve something together,” Eriksen said.
The former Tottenham and Inter Milan midfielder added that Wolfsburg manager Paul Simonis’s clear vision for the team was a decisive factor, along with the presence of several Danish internationals in the squad.
Eriksen, who famously returned to professional football after suffering a cardiac arrest during Euro 2020, had been training with Malmö FF while weighing his options as a free agent. He now embarks on the next chapter of his career in Germany’s top flight.
