The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.
In a statement issued on June 16, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, the Service disclosed that it had become aware of a disturbing video circulating on social media which allegedly shows inappropriate conduct between the teacher and the student.
According to GES, management has immediately initiated investigations into the matter and, pending the outcome of the probe, has directed that the teacher be interdicted in accordance with the Service’s rules and regulations.
The Service stressed that the interdiction is intended to allow for a thorough and impartial investigation while ensuring that due process is followed.
GES strongly condemned all forms of inappropriate relationships between teachers and students, reiterating its long-standing zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct within educational institutions.
The statement emphasized that teachers are expected to serve as role models and uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.
Management further cautioned all members of staff across the country to remain mindful of their professional responsibilities and avoid any conduct that could compromise the safety, welfare, and rights of students.
GES reaffirmed its commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all learners and assured the public that any individual found guilty of misconduct would face the appropriate disciplinary measures and possible legal consequences.
The Service also urged students, parents, and members of the public to report incidents of abuse, exploitation, or misconduct within schools through the appropriate channels to enable swift intervention.
GES assured stakeholders that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness and pledged to provide further updates as investigations progress.
