The Methodist Church Ghana has extended humanitarian assistance to families affected by recent flooding in the Kpeehe Circuit and nearby communities, as part of its continued commitment to supporting vulnerable people during times of hardship.
The relief exercise, undertaken through the Church’s Methodist Development and Relief Services (MDRS), saw the donation of essential items to victims whose homes and livelihoods were impacted by the floods.
The items were presented on behalf of the Connexion by the Director of Methodist Development and Relief Services, Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Asare-Kusi, accompanied by the Director of Public Relations, Rev. Hedwig Naa Tolloo Quist, and other church officials during a brief presentation at the Resurrection Society, Kpeehe.
Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Superintendent Minister of the Kpeehe Circuit, Very Rev. Dr. Clara Danquah, expressed appreciation to the Connexion for its timely intervention. She described the support as a demonstration of genuine Christian love and solidarity, noting that it would bring hope and relief to affected families as they recover from the devastation caused by the floods.
The donation comes at a time when many households are still grappling with the impact of recent flooding, which displaced families and destroyed properties in parts of the capital.
The intervention reflects The Methodist Church Ghana’s mission of combining evangelism with social responsibility by responding to the needs of society, particularly during emergencies.
Through the outreach, the Church reiterated its commitment to demonstrating Christ’s love in practical ways, assuring affected communities of its continued support while encouraging collective efforts to restore hope and rebuild lives.
