An Accra Circuit Court has remanded the prime suspect in connection with a daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in Adabraka in 2024.

The suspect, Salim Mohammed, also known as Fariwata, is accused of participating in the robbery in which GH₵7.5 million, being proceeds from a gold transaction, was stolen while the money was being conveyed to a bank on November 2, 2024.

Mohammed, a 26-year-old unemployed man, was arrested on November 20, 2025, at a hospital in Ashaiman, where he had gone to seek medical attention. His arrest followed months of intelligence-led surveillance by the Ghana Police Service.

According to the prosecution, the suspect allegedly carried out the robbery together with six other accomplices who are currently on the run. His plea was preserved, and he has been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, to wit robbery, and robbery.

The court has adjourned the case to January 13, 2026, to allow for further proceedings. Prosecutors told the court that investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to track down and arrest the remaining suspects connected to the case.
