The Presiding Bishop of The Methodist Church Ghana, The Most Rev. Prof. Johnson Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, recently worshipped with the Twifo Heman circuit of the Foso Diocese as part of his pastoral visit.
The worship service, held at the Wesley Society, drew a large gathering of church members, including the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Anthony Brown (Rtd), the Secretary of Synod, and other leaders of the diocese and circuit.
The Presiding Bishop was warmly welcomed by the church and the Brigade band of the circuit, setting the tone for a joyous and uplifting worship service.
The Presiding Bishop took his text from Luke’s Gospel, chapter 9, verses 57-62, and Methodist Hymn 400, and delivered a powerful homily that challenged the congregation to live out their faith in their daily lives.
In his sermon, the Presiding Bishop emphasized that being a Methodist is not just about membership or affiliation, but about being a disciple who walks in the tenets of God. He noted that a person’s name can have a significant impact on their identity and behavior, and that as Methodists, they should strive to live up to the name and values of their church.
The Most Rev. Asamoah Gyadu warned against being double-minded and unstable, emphasizing the importance of committing to Jesus as their Lord and Personal Savior.
The Presiding Bishop’s message was a call to faith and obedience, urging the congregation to accept Jesus as their Lord and Personal Savior and to live out their faith in their daily lives.
He prayed for the congregation to be a blessing, dependent on God, and walking in His word. He also prayed for the young people and children of the church, that God would protect and transform them into responsible persons for the church and nation.
The worship service was a blessing to the congregation, and the Presiding Bishop’s message was a timely reminder of the importance of living out their faith in their daily lives. The service was a celebration of the church’s mission and values, and a call to action for all members to strive for holiness and obedience to God’s word.
