Rev. Nathaniel Ocansey lauds spirit of unity and fellowship at the Methodist 190th Anniversary and EGPC 2025

The 190th Anniversary celebrations of the Methodist Church Ghana, together with the 2025 Expanded General Purposes Council meetig (EGPC) in Cape Coast, continue to inspire both clergy and members with powerful testimonies of faith, heritage, and fellowship.

Among those deeply touched by the occasion is Rev. Nathaniel Ocansey, who has expressed his admiration for the remarkable spirit of unity and love that has characterized the events so far.

In an interview with WTV during the anniversary sessions, Rev. Ocansey said he was “highly impressed with the togetherness and warmth” demonstrated by participants across the nation. He explained that such an atmosphere of harmony reflects the true essence of Methodism and provides hope for the continued growth of the Church.

“I am impressed with the unity and love I have seen so far. It has been a blessing to meet so many leaders of the Methodist Church gathered here for one purpose,” Rev. Ocansey noted with joy.

He emphasized that this spirit of fellowship should not end with the anniversary but must continue to guide the Church in its mission of evangelism, social transformation, and nation-building. According to him, the presence of leaders from various dioceses is not only a show of institutional strength but also a sign of the Methodist Church’s ability to stand as one body despite diversity.

Rev. Ocansey’s reflections add to the chorus of inspiring messages shared throughout the celebrations, reinforcing the theme of thanksgiving, renewal, and forward-looking mission. His call is clear: unity and love must remain at the center of the Methodist witness as the Church looks ahead to its 200th year and beyond.
