Swedru school of business apologises over student assault video

Swedru School of Business (SWEBUS) has rendered an unqualified apology after a widely circulated video showed some of its students attacking a student from Obrachire Senior High School.

In a statement, the school expressed grave concern over the disturbing footage, describing the incident as deeply troubling and regrettable.

Management stressed that the actions captured in the video sharply contradict the institution’s core values and standards. It noted that the conduct displayed is unacceptable and inconsistent with the discipline, principles and expectations upheld by SWEBUS.

The statement further indicated that the behaviour breaches the school’s Code of Conduct as well as regulations of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, character formation and responsible citizenship, the school unequivocally denounced the act, making it clear that violence and any form of misconduct that endangers the safety, dignity or welfare of others will not be tolerated.

Management assured the public that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the findings of ongoing investigations.

Beyond sanctions, the school pledged to strengthen its internal structures to forestall similar incidents. It announced plans to intensify guidance and counselling services, tighten enforcement of discipline and enhance character education initiatives aimed at promoting respect, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among students.
