Rt. Rev. Samuel Osabutey reflects on Methodist Church Ghana’s 190th Anniversary journey

The Immediate Past Bishop of the Accra Diocese, the Rt. Rev Samuel Kofi Osabutey, has shared deep reflections on the historic 190th Anniversary celebrations of the Methodist Church Ghana, lauding both past and present leadership for their dedication in making the milestone event a resounding success.

Speaking in his capacity as Chairman of the 190th Anniversary Committee, the Rt. Rev. Osabutey highlighted the meticulous preparations and efforts that went into enhancing the program.

He acknowledged the unwavering support of the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Prof Johnson Kwabena Asamoah-Gyedu, alongside the entire leadership of the church, whose contributions he said were instrumental in bringing the anniversary to life.

He further encouraged Methodist members and societies across the nation to fully embrace the occasion, showcasing its significance within their local societies as a testament to the church’s rich heritage and enduring legacy.

In a special mention, the Rt. Rev. Osabutey expressed profound appreciation to the Cape Coast Diocese Bishop, Rt. Rev. Richardson Aboagye Andam, for his immense contributions and tireless support throughout the celebration.

The grand event, held at the historic Wesley Methodist Church in the Cape Coast Diocese—the cradle of Methodism in Ghana—marked a powerful moment of thanksgiving, heritage, and renewal for the entire church community.
