PSV Eindhoven produced a remarkable second-half performance to crush 10-man Napoli 6–2 at the Philips Stadion, sealing their first UEFA Champions League victory of the season.
Napoli looked to be in control early on after Scott McTominay opened the scoring, but the Dutch side mounted an extraordinary comeback within minutes. Alessandro Buongiorno’s own goal drew PSV level before Ismael Saibari’s superb strike turned the game in the hosts’ favour.
Dennis Man then extended PSV’s lead with a composed finish before adding his second of the night shortly after, leaving Napoli reeling. The visitors’ troubles deepened when Lorenzo Lucca was shown a straight red card in the 76th minute for dissent.
McTominay briefly reignited hope for Napoli with his second goal late in the match, but PSV swiftly restored their dominance. Ricardo Pepi made it 5–2 before Couhaib Driouech capped off a stunning night with a spectacular long-range strike to seal the emphatic victory.
The result marks a second consecutive defeat for Antonio Conte’s side, who also stumbled in Serie A over the weekend with a loss to Torino. Napoli now sit 22nd in the 36-team Champions League league phase, while PSV leapfrog the Italians into 11th place, reigniting their campaign in style.
