Presiding Bishop Embarks on Pastoral Mission to Goaso Diocese, Affirms Church–Traditional Bonds

The Presiding Bishop of The Methodist Church Ghana, the Most Rev Prof. Johnson Asamoah-Gyadu has embarked on a pastoral visit to the Goaso Diocese of The Methodist Church Ghana for a pastoral Visit.

The visit is also to tour the various circuits and societies within the diocese where he paid a courtesy call on the Ntotroso traditional area and the chief, Barima Twereku Ampem lll who is the president of the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs and the Goaso Traditional Council as well as to attend the climax of the 10 anniversary celebrations of the diocese.

Barima Twereku Ampem lll thanked the Presiding Bishop and the leadership of the church for the visit adding that they have supported the creation of the diocese and will continue to support the diocese in diverse ways to bring development to the church and to the region.

He further commended the works of the superintendent ministers and ministers of diocese for their work done so far.

The presiding Bishop, the Most Rev Prof Asamoah -Gyadu also responded by thanking the traditional leaders for the warm reception given them.

His visit coincided with the Anniversary durbar at the forecourt of the Wesley Cathedral in Goaso where the Lay President, Bro Kwesi Atta Antwi and the Administrative bishop the Rt. Rev. Dr. William Mpere Gyakye as well as well wishers were present at the occasion.

While delivering his speech at the grand durbar, The Most Rev Prof Asamoah-Gyadu urged members through Jeremiah 29:11 that there is faith in God to them things around for the Diocese.

He further advised that they turn their challenges into opportunities for themselves.

On Sunday, which marked the first Sunday of Advent drew his text from Luke 1:6-8 urging them to give thanks to God for He has come to bring redemption to His people.
