WTV officially unveils Thousand Tongues weekly Hymns programme

Wesleyan Television WTV has officially unveiled a new inspirational music programme Thousand Tongues a weekly broadcast designed to rekindle the rich heritage of Methodist hymns while creating space for contemporary expressions of faith through music.

The programme was officially unveiled on December 18, 2025, reaffirming Wesleyan Television’s commitment to promoting Methodist hymns through focused broadcast ministry.

The unveiling edition was hosted by the Very Rev. Clara Danquah and featured ministration by the Accra Diocesan Methodist Choir, whose performance reflected the programme’s emphasis on preserving the rich heritage of Methodist hymns while fostering worship, reflection, and edification among viewers.

Scheduled to air every Thursday from 2:00pm to 3:00pm Thousand Tongues will be broadcast live from the WTV Studio at Grant House offering viewers an hour of worship reflection and soul lifting melodies rooted in the Methodist tradition.

The programme draws its inspiration from the deep emotional and spiritual connections many believers have with classic Methodist hymns songs that have shaped faith journeys accompanied moments of prayer and echoed through generations of worship.

By bringing these hymns back to the screen Thousand Tongues seeks to awaken nostalgia while renewing appreciation for sacred music as a powerful tool for spiritual nourishment.

At the heart of the programme is the Connexional Choir whose rich harmonies and disciplined choral tradition will anchor each episode. They will be joined by the Singing Band and other contemporary singing groups creating a blend of traditional and modern musical expressions that reflect the evolving yet grounded nature of Methodist worship.

What sets Thousand Tongues apart is its interactive dimension. Viewers will have the opportunity to request their favourite hymns and inspirational songs during the programme making each episode a shared experience between the studio and homes across the country.

This engagement reinforces the programme’s mission of inclusivity participation and communal worship.

The show will be coordinated and hosted by selected Reverend Ministers with a deep understanding of church music and its role as food for the soul.

Through brief reflections hymn backgrounds and guided moments of worship the hosts will help viewers connect more deeply with the messages behind the melodies.
