The Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, has unveiled a groundbreaking digital support package that allows Ghanaian students to access Google’s Gemini App free of charge for an entire year, along with 2TB of cloud storage and complimentary AI certification training.
The initiative, announced in a post on X, forms part of government’s broader agenda to deepen digital literacy and position young Ghanaians at the forefront of global technological advancement.
“Until December 9, 2025, Ghanaian students can sign up to use @GeminiApp for free for 12 months with 2TB storage. You also get free AI Certification training,” the minister said, encouraging students nationwide to take advantage of the opportunity.
The programme is a continuation of the Ministry of Communications’ ongoing partnership with Google— a collaboration that has already delivered the Google AI Research Lab in Accra and supported the One Million Coders Programme. Sam George affirmed that these joint efforts will keep expanding to give students across the country access to world-class digital tools.
According to him, the initiative is designed not only to sharpen students’ technological skills but also to reduce financial pressure on families. “This is yet another step to empower our citizens and save money for Ghanaian students and their parents,” he added.
Eligible students can register through the Gemini Pro portal and separately apply for the AI training programme via the links provided.
The offer remains valid until December 9, 2025, and is open to all qualifying students across Ghana.
