The Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana has inducted new executives of the Diocesan Lay Movement Council in a solemn ceremony held at the Ebenezer Methodist Church in Agona Swedru.
The event was officiated by the Rt. Rev. John Prince Sackey, the 6th Bishop of the Diocese, and was held under the auspices of the Diocesan Bishop, the Lay Chairman Bro. Seth Oduro Arthur, the Secretary of Synod the Very Rev. Charles Kofi Sam, and the Superintendent Minister for the circuit, the Very Rev. Isaac Arthur.
The newly inducted executives include Sis. Norah Gura Amponsem as Vice Chairperson, Bro. Evangelist Ebenezer Kojo Fosu Dadzie as Secretary, and Bro. Francis K. A. Boadu as Assistant Secretary. Others are Bro. Desmond K. Mensah Danful as Treasurer, Bro. Nichols Essel-Sakyi as Organizer, with Sis. Edna Ida Mensah and Sis. Patricia Anane serving as Co-opted Members.
Delivering the homily on the theme “Speaking the Truth to Power,” with scripture from Ephesians 4:17, Rt. Rev. Sackey emphasized the importance of truth and unity in advancing the mission of the church.
“The church can only move forward if we speak the truth in unity, speaking with one mouth and thinking upright,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana has also inducted its newly elected Diocesan Lay Movement Council executives.
These induction ceremonies form part of the Methodist Church Ghana’s annual tradition, beginning each new church year in October, to usher in fresh leadership at the diocesan and society levels to steer the affairs of the church effectively.
