The Immediate Past Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, the Most Rev. Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo, has shared a thoughtful reflection during the ongoing 2025 Expanded General Purposes Council meeting (GPC) in Cape Coast, held in anticipation of the church’s 190th Anniversary celebrations.

Speaking to WTV’s reporter in August 20, 2025, the Immediate Past Presiding Bishop described the program as both successful and inspiring. He further stressed that the remaining sessions of the meeting would be equally progressive and impactful, producing outcomes that will strengthen the church’s mission and witness.

The Immediate Past Presiding Bishop also took a moment to acknowledge the dedication of the current Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Prof. J. Asamoah-Gyadu, commending his tireless commitment and availability in leading the church through this significant occasion.

In his message, the Immediate Past Presiding Bishop emphasized that the faithfulness of God remains unchanging across generations. Reflecting on leadership and service, he noted the weight of responsibility that comes with ministry but also pointed to the sustaining grace of God which enables all who are called. He stressed that ministry is never about personal recognition but about directing all glory to Christ.

Returning to the Wesley Methodist Cathedral in Cape Coast, the historic first Methodist Society in Ghana, the Immediate Past Presiding Bishop highlighted the significance of revisiting the church’s spiritual roots. He prayed that by the conclusion of the meeting, every decision taken would bring lasting positive impact to the Methodist Church Ghana.
