A cold-blooded and calculated murder has left the towns of Prampram and Dzodze in deep shock, grief, and fear, after a well-known Ghanaian taxi driver, Patrick Tetteh, was lured to his death by passengers he believed were genuine clients.
What started as a routine trip from Greater Accra to the Volta Region ended in a horrifying tragedy that has shaken the conscience of the nation. Patrick, a respected and hardworking driver, unknowingly drove his killers to the very scene of his own execution.
The gruesome incident, which unfolded somewhere last week, paints a chilling picture of how vulnerable transport workers are becoming in the face of growing insecurity along major routes.
The suspects, believed to be three Nigerian nationals, allegedly hired Patrick for a private trip to Aflao. But instead of reaching their destination, the journey ended near Dzodze, where the driver was viciously attacked and killed—his only crime was trying to make an honest living.

Police say the suspects intended to steal Patrick’s car after the murder, but their escape plan was cut short when one of them was arrested at a regional security checkpoint.
His suspicious behaviour and inability to produce valid documents prompted officers to probe further. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed and led authorities to the remote location where Patrick’s body had been dumped.
The two other suspects remain at large, and a nationwide manhunt has been launched to ensure justice is served. The community continues to mourn the loss of a man whose only mistake was trusting the wrong people.
