Suspected fake security officers arrested near Awoshie DVLA polling station

The Ghana Police Service has arrested several individuals wearing brown uniforms and claiming to be security personnel near the Awoshie DVLA polling station in the Ablekuma North Constituency.

According to sources, the individuals were unable to provide valid identification when approached by officers stationed at the polling centre. Their suspicious presence and failure to verify their identities prompted their immediate transfer to the Odorkor Police Station for further questioning.

The suspects were seen near the entrance of the polling station during the parliamentary election re-run currently underway.

Their appearance and lack of official identification raised concerns among law enforcement officials assigned to maintain security in the area.

Speaking to Citi News, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ga West and Dean of MMDCEs in the Greater Accra Region, John Desmond Nii Sowah Nai, confirmed the arrests. He noted that preliminary police assessments suggest the individuals may not be affiliated with any recognised state security agency.
