Sekondi Diocese donated GHS 100,000 to support Rose Akowuah’s successful cancer surgery

Compassion and unity were demonstrated by the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana through the presentation of a GHS 100,000.00 cheque to Mrs. Rose Akowuah to support her surgery for Undifferentiated Sarcoma of the Right Anterior Chest Wall with Intrathoracic Extension, a high-grade cancer diagnosed by the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The financial support followed an appeal from the Korle Bu Cancer Unit to the Diocese for assistance. Members of the Methodist Church within and outside the Sekondi Diocese responded generously, contributing towards the cost of her treatment.

The Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Kwesi Ansah, Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese, together with the Diocesan Executive, presented the cheque to Mrs. Akowuah and her husband on Tuesday, 17th June 2025, at the Bishop’s Office. He expressed appreciation to all who donated and encouraged members to continue showing love and care for one another.

Thanks to the generous contributions from the Methodist community, Mrs. Akowuah was able to undergo successful surgery and has now fully recovered. The Diocese has offered heartfelt gratitude to God and all who made this life-saving support possible.
