The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, the Most Rev. Prof. Johnson Kwabena Asamoah Gyadu, has commended the members of the 190th anniversary planning committee for their outstanding work in organizing activities and programs towards the climax of the celebration in Cape Coast.
Evaluating the Celebration
The committee, led by Chairman Rt. Rev. Samuel Kofi Osabutey, evaluated the year-long celebration, noting that despite some setbacks, 80% of the planned activities were achieved. The committee praised the media coverage, particularly Wesleyan Television, for broadcasting all the activities live.
Acknowledging Contributions
The Chairman acknowledged the contributions of the Cape Coast Diocese, the Brigade band, church members, and various organizations towards the success of the program. He expressed gratitude to all involved in the planning and execution of the activities, which culminated in a durbar.
Next Steps
The Planning Committee has begun evaluating the program and will present its report to the General Purposes Council Meeting, the highest decision-making body of the church, in November 2025. The Presiding Bishop’s visit to the Wesley Towers was also to assess the impact of the activities and look at the way forward.
