Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has denied raping two women and sexually assaulting a third.
The 32-year-old Ghanaian international pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault when he appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Friday.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022, while Partey was playing regularly in the Premier League. He was charged four days after leaving Arsenal, following the expiration of his contract at the end of June.
Partey, who now plays for Spanish club Villarreal, spoke only to confirm his name before entering his pleas. He has been granted bail until his trial, which is scheduled to begin at the same court on 2 November 2026.
Bail Conditions
Under the terms of his bail, Partey must inform police of any international travel at least 24 hours in advance and is prohibited from contacting the complainants. The conditions do not restrict his ability to continue playing football.
The midfielder was already in London as Villarreal faced Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Tuesday. He came on as a substitute in the match, which Spurs won 1-0.
