NPP leadership, dignitaries sign Book of Condolence for late music icon Daddy Lumba

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), alongside several members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament, paid a heartfelt visit on Tuesday to the residence of the late music legend Daddy Lumba to sign the Book of Condolence opened in his honour.

The opening of the condolence book drew a stream of prominent dignitaries, fans, and industry players, all mourning the loss of one of Ghana’s most iconic musicians.

Speaking to the media, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin described Daddy Lumba as more than just a musician, calling him a cherished figure within the NPP fold:

“He was a source of inspiration to many through his music. The entire NPP leadership is here to support the family. He has done his part and left—God knows best.”

NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong echoed similar sentiments, highlighting Lumba’s contribution to the party through hit campaign songs over the years:

“We have a very special relationship with him. When we heard the news, we couldn’t just sit and pretend nothing had happened. We’re here to commiserate and honour his legacy.”
