Milo U13 Championship: Big Names fall as eight schools reach quarter-finals

The group phase of the 2025 Milo U13 Championship concluded on Thursday after two days of thrilling football at the Paa Joe and Maa Joe Parks at KNUST, where 16 schools battled fiercely for quarter-final spots.

The competition delivered exciting matches, rising talents, and unexpected outcomes, with the biggest talking point being the early elimination of Greater Accra representatives, Weija Gbawe M/A. After winning just one match, they entered their final group game needing victory to advance, but instead suffered a heavy 4–0 defeat to St. Francis R/C Primary, ending their campaign.

Group A

Host region side Mim Pie dominated the group, finishing top with seven points from two wins and a draw.
Franko International School claimed second place and also progressed.

Group B

Adrobaa R/C Basic from the Ahafo Region topped the group with six points, the same tally that secured St. Francis R/C Primary the second qualifying spot.

Group C

Sogasco D/A Primary from the Volta Region impressed with a perfect record, winning all three matches.
They advanced alongside Atebubu MA from Bono East, who finished with six points.

Group D

Northern Region’s Kanvili R.C. Primary also completed the group stage with maximum points, leading the group ahead of Bomso Advent Primary from the Eastern Region, who finished on six points.

  2. Kanvili R.C. Primary (Northern Region) vs Franko International School (Western North)
  3. Adrobaa R/C Basic (Ahafo Region) vs Atebubu MA (Bono East)
  4. Sogasco D/A Primary (Volta Region) vs St. Francis R/C Primary (Bono Region)

Tournament Continues

The championship resumes on Friday and will run through Saturday, December 6, 2025.

This year’s event marks the return of the Milo U13 Championship after a six-year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, with organisers aiming to reignite grassroots football and nurture the next generation of Ghanaian stars.
