Jordan Ayew provides assist as Leicester City fall 2-1 to Hull City in Championship Clash

Ghana captain Jordan Ayew registered an assist for Leicester City on Tuesday night, but his contribution wasn’t enough to prevent the Foxes from falling 2-1 to Hull City in their English Championship encounter.

The experienced forward was named in Leicester’s starting lineup for the Round 11 fixture at the MKM Stadium, linking up in attack with fellow Ghanaian Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

Early Setback for the Foxes

Hull City began the game on the front foot, pressing high and dictating play in the opening minutes. Their early dominance paid off in the sixth minute when Liam Millar latched onto a pass from Joe Gelhardt to put the hosts ahead.

Leicester struggled to find their rhythm as Hull continued to control possession and create chances. Their pressure was rewarded again in the 31st minute when Gelhardt turned scorer this time, finishing off a precise assist from Ryan Giles to double the lead.

Ayew Creates Leicester’s Only Goal

The Foxes looked more composed after the break, and Jordan Ayew’s persistence finally paid off midway through the second half. In the 67th minute, the Black Stars captain produced a clever through-ball to set up Aaron Ramsey, who calmly slotted home to reduce the deficit.

Despite mounting late pressure, Leicester were unable to find an equalizer, and Hull held firm to secure all three points.

Consistent Performer

Ayew’s assist takes his tally to one goal and one assist in ten Championship appearances this season — a solid start to his campaign as he continues to play a key role in Leicester’s frontline.

The result leaves the Foxes with work to do as they aim to climb the Championship table in the coming weeks.
