A devastating road accident in the Ashanti Region has claimed the lives of two police officers assigned to a bullion van escort.
The fatal incident occurred at Adanwomase, near Bonwire, when the bullion van they were travelling in collided with a KIA truck. Both officers died instantly at the scene.
Eyewitnesses report that the bullion van, reportedly moving at high speed as part of a critical assignment, attempted to navigate a sharp bend.
During the manoeuvre, it collided head-on with the KIA truck approaching from the opposite direction.
The tragic accident has cast a shadow over the community, with many expressing sorrow over the loss of the two young officers who were serving in the line of duty.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
