Firefighters from the New Juaben North and South Municipal Fire Commands are currently battling a raging fire that has engulfed the House 3 boys’ dormitory block at Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS) in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The fire, which broke out about an hour ago, has caused significant damage. Although the exact cause is yet to be determined, early reports suggest that the blaze may have originated from the master’s bungalow—situated within the same block as the dormitory—before rapidly spreading to the adjoining boys’ quarters.
According to information gathered by Citi News, all belongings within the master’s bungalow have been completely destroyed.
A fire tender from the Eastern Regional Fire Command has been dispatched to support the ongoing firefighting efforts, as municipal officers work urgently to bring the situation under control and prevent the fire from spreading further.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported at this time.
