Emmanuel Methodist Society, Apirede Celebrates 145th Anniversary With Lectures And Homecoming

The Emmanuel Methodist Society, Apirede-Akuapem, in the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, recently marked a significant milestone with its 145th Anniversary Lectures and Homecoming Program on Friday, 26th December 2025. The event, part of the church’s anniversary celebrations, drew members from near and far, including distant members who returned home to join in the festivities.

The program featured insightful lectures by esteemed speakers. Bro Seth Yaw Jectey, a past Steward of the church, delivered a thought-provoking talk on the theme “145 Years of Methodism in Apirede: Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Present, and Shaping the Future.” He shared the history of the Methodist Church in Apirede, highlighting its growth and impact over the years. Bro Samuel Ashley, a former distant member now based in Apirede, spoke on “Being Committed to Your Mother Church,” urging distant members to support their local church.

A highlight of the evening was the launch of the Anniversary Song, written and performed by the church’s Singing Band and Choir, led by Bro Amos Kwabena Ashalley, Choirmaster, Singing Band Master, and Organist.

The Special Guest, The Very Rev Kwadwo Agyenim Boateng, Superintendent Minister for Adukrom Circuit, commended the organizers for their efforts and encouraged members to deepen their Christian lives and contribute to the growth of the church.

The event also featured soul-stirring gospel music by the Emmanuel Vessels of Praise,Apirede (Gospel Band), enriching the spiritual atmosphere.

The next anniversary programs include a Gospel Rockshow on 3rd January 2026 and a visit to Wesley Towers by the Children’s Ministry on 8th February 2026.
