BREAKING: Okada rider brutally killed in Kwabenya, throat slit

A fresh wave of terror has engulfed the Kwabenya Comet community in Accra following the gruesome killing of an Okada rider — the second such incident in just a few months.

The victim, yet to be identified, was discovered with his throat slit, in what residents fear is a disturbing trend of targeted killings. The chilling murder bears striking resemblance to the death of immigration officer Stephen Amoah, who was slain under similar circumstances in the same community months ago.

The repeated acts of violence have left residents shaken, with many expressing fear for their safety and frustration over what they describe as inadequate security. “We are living in fear. No one knows who will be next,” one resident lamented.

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that investigations are underway, though no arrests have been made. The Kwabenya enclave, known for its rapid urbanisation and dense settlements, presents unique policing challenges, with unlit streets and congested neighborhoods creating cover for criminal activity.

This latest killing has sparked renewed calls for swift and decisive police intervention to restore calm and prevent the community from sliding further into a cycle of fear and violence.
