Bayern Munich extended their flawless Champions League campaign with a 4–0 victory over Club Brugge, highlighted by Harry Kane’s 20th goal of the season — a milestone reached in just 12 appearances.
The England captain needed only 14 minutes to find the net, left unmarked at the far post to tap in Konrad Laimer’s low cross. The goal underscored Kane’s extraordinary form, with neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo having reached 20 goals in so few matches at any point in their careers.
Earlier, 17-year-old Lennart Karl opened the scoring in spectacular fashion, cutting inside two defenders before rifling a brilliant left-foot strike into the top corner. At 17 years and 242 days, the youngster became Bayern’s youngest-ever scorer in the Champions League, breaking Jamal Musiala’s record by 121 days.
Luis Díaz continued his strong start to life in Munich, smashing in Bayern’s third off the underside of the crossbar in the 34th minute — his seventh goal since joining from Liverpool this summer. Kane nearly added another before halftime when his angled effort struck the post.
After the interval, Bayern remained dominant. Kane was denied by Nordin Jackers in a one-on-one and later saw another effort blocked heroically by Jorne Spileers. He was substituted in the 70th minute to a standing ovation, making way for Nicolas Jackson, who added a fourth goal from close range moments later after Díaz’s shot was cleared off the line.
The win marked Bayern’s third straight Champions League triumph, keeping them level on points with Paris Saint-Germain but second on goal difference. Club Brugge, meanwhile, sit 20th in the league phase table with three points.
Bayern will next travel to face defending champions PSG in Paris on November 4, while Brugge host Barcelona the following evening.
