Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is set to miss Al-Shabab’s next two matches as he continues his return to full fitness.
Partey will sit out the games against Al-Kholood and Al-Fayha while following a specialised fitness programme under the supervision of Al-Shabab’s fitness coach.
The 33-year-old is undergoing intensive training sessions as he works to regain full match fitness and gradually return to competitive action.
His absence means he will miss two important league fixtures as the club continues its campaign, with the midfielder focusing on his fitness ahead of a busy international period.
Partey’s fitness will also be closely monitored as the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers draw closer.
The Black Stars are scheduled to face Côte d’Ivoire on September 24 before taking on The Gambia three days later on September 27.
His availability for the upcoming qualifiers could therefore depend on how well he responds to the specialised training programme in the coming weeks.
