Black Princesses qualify for 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after Uganda draw

Ghana women’s national under-20 football team have booked their place at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after battling to a 1-1 draw against Uganda women’s national under-20 football team at the FUFA Stadium in Kampala on Saturday afternoon.

The result was enough to send Ghana through on aggregate following their 2-1 victory in the first leg played in Accra last week.

Uganda started the match brightly and grabbed an early lead in the sixth minute, taking a 1-0 advantage into halftime as they searched for a comeback.

However, the Black Princesses responded strongly after the break, with Linda Owusu Ansah scoring in the 78th minute to level the match and effectively secure qualification for Ghana.

The qualification continues Ghana’s impressive dominance in youth women’s football, with the Black Princesses now reaching the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup for the eighth consecutive time.

The 2026 tournament is scheduled to take place in Poland later this year.
