Fashion entrepreneur and former model Herty Twens says she put her modelling career on hold for seven years to focus on marriage, motherhood and family responsibilities.

Twens, who established Gold Model Agency & School in 2011, stepped away from the business as her family grew, choosing to prioritise raising her children and attending to her home.

Speaking to Graphic Showbiz, she said the decision was necessary at that stage of her life, although her passion for modelling remained strong.

“When I started Gold Model Agency in 2011, I was at a different stage of my life. Along the way, marriage, motherhood and family responsibilities came in, and naturally, my priorities began to change,” she said.

She explained that the break gave her the opportunity to embrace motherhood, grow personally and develop a fresh perspective on life and business.

However, she said her absence from the industry did not mean she had abandoned her ambitions, adding that she was now ready to return and rebuild the agency.

Her comeback will be marked by the fifth edition of the Golden Hair & Fashion Show, scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2026, at the Accra City Hotel.

According to Twens, the event will showcase fashion, hairstyling and professional modelling, while providing students of Gold Model Agency with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have acquired through training.

She described the upcoming show as more than a fashion event, saying it represents a new chapter for the agency and a celebration of its return to the industry.

Twens also expressed hope that the event would highlight Ghanaian creativity and provide a platform for designers, hairstylists, models and other industry professionals to showcase their work.

She said she was determined to rebuild Gold Model Agency and make its return meaningful and sustainable.
