The Presiding Bishop of The Methodist Church Ghana, The Most Rev. Prof. Johnson Asamoah-Gyadu, has expressed strong confidence in the future of the Church following the induction service of the Connexional Executives of the Methodist Youth Fellowship in Obuasi on March 1, 2026.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the Presiding Bishop reflected on his own journey within the Fellowship.
He recalled enrolling as a member of the Methodist Youth Fellowship in 1977 and noted that he could not have foreseen that decades later he would be inducting the Connexional Executives as Presiding Bishop.
His reflection highlights the formative role the Fellowship has played in shaping leaders for the Church.
He described the MYF motto, “We Work, We Witness, We Worship,” as a powerful declaration of faith and vision that must guide young Methodists throughout their lives.
According to him, every member of the Fellowship should confidently affirm their identity as Methodists, their love for the Lord, their devotion to His Church, and their commitment to walk in the Word.
The Presiding Bishop emphasised that the future of The Methodist Church Ghana rests largely on the commitment, discipline, and spiritual depth of its youth. He noted that a Church that invests in its young people is a Church that secures its tomorrow.
With vibrant, well grounded and Christ centred youth, he expressed assurance that the Church will continue to grow in faith, influence, and impact in the years ahead.
Commenting on the induction service, he said he was inspired by the joy, energy, and dynamism displayed by the youth.
He indicated that the enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated during the ceremony provide further assurance that the future of the Methodist Church Ghana is secure.
As the newly inducted Connexional Executives assume office, he urged members of the Fellowship to remain steadfast in their mission by continuing to work faithfully, witness boldly, and worship wholeheartedly, expressing hope and confidence in the Church’s future.
