Prepare your hearts, not just your homes for Christmas — Rt. Rev. Samuel Osabutey

The Rt. Rev. Samuel Kofi Osabutey, Superintendent Minister for the Dzorwulu Circuit of The Methodist Church Ghana has described Advent as the beginning of a liturgical year meaning “Coming” or “to come”.

A period where Christians in the world celebrate the coming of God into the world in the person of Jesus. It is a season of 4 Sundays preceding Christmas with this year’s Advent Beginning on November 30, 2025.

The superintendent minister stressed that Advent reminds us of what God came to do for us and to prepare ourselves towards His Coming and not our dressings and foods to eat during the celebration.

He noted that Christians are “not doing much” as people may put it but the preparation allows us to be aware of what Christ has come to so-our salvation.

Bishop Osabutey explained that the reason for ” Emmanuel’s coming”is to save the world from its sins which is His coming to redeem us.

He urged Christians to find the will of God in His Word, have fellowship with Him, share with others his Goodness, and meditate on what God has said about the coming of Jesus Christ and share, witness with other people.
