The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Awatey, has commended the Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary (SUWMA) for their commitment to transforming society through mentorship and service.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, at the organization’s 12th Biennial/2nd Connexional Conference in Koforidua, Hon. Rita Awatey emphasized the importance of faith-based institutions in promoting spiritual and moral formation, education, health, community development, volunteerism, and women’s empowerment.
The government has shown its support for SUWMA’s initiatives by donating GHC 100,000 to aid in the organization’s activities. This gesture demonstrates the government’s appreciation for SUWMA’s efforts in promoting women’s empowerment and community development.
The Minister also urged the church and its organizations to help shape the nation by upholding moral values and contributing meaningfully to development.
She emphasized the need for women of faith to be beacons of light, promoting moral values and contributing to national development.
The conference, themed “Discipleship: Growing into Christian Maturity,” provided a platform for women to come together, share experiences, and grow in their faith. SUWMA’s commitment to nurturing and service is a testament to the organization’s dedication to making a positive impact in society.
