The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department has announced the official salary payment schedule for civil servants, Ghana Education Service staff, and other public sector workers on the government payroll for 2026.
According to the Department, the schedule outlines when banks will begin crediting salaries into workers’ accounts each month, providing clarity and predictability for public sector employees.
Salaries for the first quarter of the year are set to be paid on January 23, February 26, and March 26. Payments for April, May, and June will follow on April 27, May 26, and June 26 respectively.
For the second half of the year, salaries will be credited starting July 27 and August 27, with September payments scheduled for September 25. October and November salaries will be paid on October 26 and November 26, while the final payment for the year is expected on December 21.
The Department emphasised that the dates indicate when banks will begin processing and crediting salaries, and not necessarily when funds will reflect in all accounts.
It added that any changes to the schedule will be communicated through official channels.
